We are GoodSim

GoodSim is a company started by medical trainees for medical trainees.

Frustration with our own inability to access the necessary learning tools for our education compelled us to start this company.

Our mission is to make intuitive, practical simulation models affordable for medical trainees.

The Team

Kyle Purrman MD

Dr. Kyle Purrman was raised in Asheville, NC and attended East Carolina University (ECU) for both college and medical school prior to coming to the U of R for his Cardiothoracic Surgery Training. He is currently doing a research fellowship in surgical technology with LSI Solutions. Kyle is the CEO of GoodSim and is obsessed with simulation, and the concept of making practice tools affordable. Outside the operating room and engineering benchtop, Kyle is an avid outdoorsman and traveler. Special skill: quoting entire episodes of “The Office” from memory.

Ariana Goodman MD

Dr. Ariana Goodman is a native of New Jersey but has spent 8 years in Rochester, NY for her education. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering prior to working at a medical technology startup company in NYC. She returned to the U of R for medical school and has remained there for her Cardiothoracic Surgery training. She was frustrated with the cost and inaccessibility of training products to medical trainees and is excited to be a part of the GoodSim team. Outside of the hospital you can usually find her hanging with her Great Pyrenees/Lab mix and baking.

Andrew Tomich

Andrew Tomich: Andrew, an ex-pat of Cleveland, Ohio, came to Rochester to attend the U of R for engineering. Constantly making things, he’s driven by the idea of incorporating medicine and education into GoodSim’s products. Andrew thrives in the fast paced environment of prehospital medicine, with aspirations of attending medical school in the future. Favorite sport: Rock Climbing. Favorite condiment: Maple Syrup. Favorite sound: 3D printer stepper motors. Andrew is proud to be the third biggest nerd at GoodSim.

Just like anything in medicine, we couldn’t do it alone. Shout out to these awesome people for their contributions.
